Lake Nona Continues to Rise: What the USTA National Campus Expansion Means for Our Community

Sanz Luxury Team January 15, 2026

Lake Nona has never been just another Orlando neighborhood. It has always been a forward-thinking community built around innovation, wellness, and global impact. With the recent approval of a major expansion at the USTA National Campus, Lake Nona is once again stepping onto the national stage this time as the long-term home of collegiate tennis championships.

Beginning in spring 2028, Lake Nona will host the NCAA Tennis Championships for the next decade, reinforcing what many residents already know: this community is built for the future.

Why This Expansion Matters

The approved expansion transforms the USTA National Campus into one of the most comprehensive tennis facilities in the country. The goal is simple yet powerful create a centralized championship venue that enhances the experience for athletes, spectators, and the surrounding community.

This isn’t just about sports. It’s about infrastructure, visibility, and long-term investment in Lake Nona as a destination.

What’s Coming to the Campus

The expansion will unfold in two thoughtfully planned phases, adding nine additional acres to the campus.

Phase One focuses on elevated indoor and competition experiences, including:

  • A large indoor facility expansion with new courts and seating
  • Enhanced training, fitness, and educational spaces
  • Improved shade structures and upgraded scoring and broadcast technology

Phase Two expands the campus footprint and accessibility, adding:

  • Additional courts and parking
  • A sprint track and improved service access
  • Event-ready overflow parking for major tournaments

Once completed, the campus will be the only facility in the United States offering indoor courts, outdoor competition courts, and practice courts all in one location.
